Columbarium
Have you ever wondered, "What is a columbarium?". The dictionary describes it as: "A vault with niches to contain the ashes of cremated bodies."
Since 2000, more and more churches have installed a columbarium as a meaningful way to honor and respect the remains of those who have passed on. What better place than in the church to place these remains? It is there where we are baptized; it is there where we give uour life to Christ. What better witness than to have our remains placed in this same sacred place?
The Columbarium overlooks the Memorial Garden, a peaceful garden area where friends and families can come for prayer and meditation in a serene, quiet green space. Made of beautiful cast bronze, each Niche provides a sacred space for inurnment.
With the cost of traditional funerals growing, the number of Christians being cremated rather than buried is increasing. A question most often asked is, "What does one do with the cremated remains of loved ones?". Fortunately, there is a dignified way that is consistent with Christian tradition. From earliest times, Christians have buried their dead in churches. Typically, this honor was reserved for kings, heroes, or other notables. Since 2006, this has been an option for members of St. Paul's Church. The table below provides a cost comparison for burial in Lubbock.
